HAVING A PROBLEM WITH SOME ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE?

TRY THIS GREAT APPROACH! IT WORKS…..

Our natural response to problems is to resist them. Then we start trying to fix them. This, dear friends, only serves to reinforce them, grow them and direct your energy into negatives instead of your high dream.

The best way to approach problems is to work WITH them, as if they are beacons along the path to your best life. To help you take this seemingly counter intuitive approach, give your problem a name. Here’s how this works.

I recently had a client who felt her job was holding her back from her real life passion. She resented going to work, but felt stuck and pressurised about alternatives. She gave her job the male name, Luigi. Then I asked her to set about making friends with Luigi. We began this process by identifying the characteristics of Luigi and what Luigi was all about in her life.

This created a completely different relationship with her job and within a week she had discovered many aspects to it that really served her. Her ideas and feelings changed so much that she decided to stay there. Needless to say much success AND happiness followed and although she knows her life path is ultimately to follow her passion, she totally loves doing her job – just for now.

So try it. Give your problem a name, become friends with it and watch it transform for the better!give-it-a-name

Advice from a 6 year old

If you’re feeling a bit jaded about your life, the advice of a six-year-old could change all that quickly. I listened to her and immediately got a motivational buzz. It happened when I had the good fortune to fall in behind her, her mother and younger sister on their way to junior school.

As they walked she asked how old her Mom’s friend was. Her mother replied, “Very old … 81.” The little girl continued, “That’s not old. I’m going to be 900.” To which her mother explained that it was not physically possible to live to 900. “Well,” said the little girl, “I’ll die, ask God to make me alive again, and then I’ll come back.” “Then you’ll be like an angel,” added her little sister. “Yes!”’ she said, “I’ll fly everywhere.” They both laughed and opened their arms in imaginary angel flight and ran down the pavement.

They weren’t the only ones doing some enchanted flying. The conversation got me soaring too. It brought a deep smile to my being but also reminded me of a fundamental principle of success and motivation – we need to dream, actively. Whether we are six or 96 we need to dream beyond the constraints of what we secretly believe is possible.

George Bernard Shaw said, “The reasonable man adjusts himself to the world. The unreasonable man adjusts the world to himself, therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” Dreaming big dreams is the state of mind that nature intended for us. Being jaded is not.

Letting your imagination soar in a positive way is the doorway to doing something worthwhile. It also has an instant physical benefit. The brain releases chemicals that induce states of well-being. It’s like giving your nervous system a bath in happiness. Whether you get to turn your dreams into reality or not, simply entertaining them in your mind gives your body a shot of power – and that’s what you want!

So do your life a favour, invite your inner six year old to tea and ask him, or her, what great things he/she had in mind for you. You could just find yourself spreading your wings and starting that project you always put off, resigning your job to go live in an ecovillage – or even having a romantic dinner with someone you were too scared to approach before. Go for it!

TONIGHT I EXPERIENCED THE POWER OF PRAYER

Tonight, as I left the local deli with our dinner tucked under my arm, I came upon a homeless man lying slumped against the wall.  I froze on the spot and could walk no further. Something held me there and as I looked at him lying eyes closed in the freezing cold, I said to Brian ‘there is no way on God’s earth that I can walk past this person without getting him something to eat. It is not ok that we have money to help and we don’t. We must help!’  It was crystal clear. There was no option. Only conviction. So I went back into the deli, Brian’s credit card in hand (thanks my darling) and ordered some warm soup and a fresh bread roll.

He was still slumped when I came out so I called out to him ‘I have some food for you, warm soup and bread.’ With tears in his eyes he slowly sat up and said  ‘I came here tonight to this deli and I started to pray. I am so hungry but nothing happened.’  (Something HAD happened, we had seen how the security guard (only doing his job in this crazy country) had dragged him, crutches scraping along behind, away from the deli entrance.)

‘Please’’ he said ‘give me bread. First, bread’.  We quickly put the soup down and got out the bread roll.  Then he continued ‘I prayed to God to help me, but nothing happened. I am so hungry. I prayed to God.”  Then he begged  ‘Please get me bread, more bread. Ask your husband for more bread.’’ So I took the credit card and went back inside the deli and got him more bread (and milk, and fruit and chocolate).

His name was Johnny one eye. He wanted to hug me. As I walked away I was sobbing. Johnny one-eye had his prayers answered, and I got a heart-opening reminder of the power of prayer.  Johnny one-eye had not spoken to me to ask for food . His prayer went from his lips to God’s ears, and from God’s lips into my heart – so loud and clear that my legs refused to walk past.

Prayer works. Let’s all keep praying. Let’s all keep listening.  God answers prayers by moving the hearts of people.  And there is nothing more beautiful than being used to answer a prayer.

THE PERFECT WAY TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION

Having trouble deciding what to do?  Even simple decisions can create a lot of emotional churn [bad for manifestation].  The more complex your personality the more likely there will be churn as you consider your situation. The more you want to a  perfect decision, the harder it is to get there!

But the process of making the right decision can, if done in a certain way, be an incredibly cleansing and connecting process that leaves you feeling light and closer to yoursel. This is how I go about it:

  1. Do EFT (emotional freedom technique) to clearly identify just exactly what feelings are swimming though you.  It is these complex and often conflicting feelings that create the inner challenge, but they are an important source of information and need to honoured and processed so that you can realise their gift.
  2. Write a letter to the person or situation with the  decision you think  best, but don’t send it. Just the process of writing  helps bring you closer to the right solution.
  3. Take time out – a shower, a walk, a yoga class – even a day. This creates space for new ideas on the matter [now firmly active in your subconscious] to pop into your consciousness.  Invariably the right solution pops up after this.  If not, keep repeating these steps.
  4. Move forward only when you have a full YES – a light and happy feeling, both mentally and emotionally.  If you feel under pressure to decide, the decision is still being baked, so allow yourself to take the time you need.

Remember that if you are in sacrifice (being forced to do something that in truth you really don’t want to do) everyone will suffer, yes everyone, even if you can’t imagine this to be true!  Rather focus on the idea that if it works for you, it will work for others.  We are socially conditioned to the opposite, but if you are doing things that violate yourself, and that corrupt energy infects all involved.  You are not on the planet to fix everyone else’s lives.  You are here to be who you are at the highest level of possibility.  Full stop.  As you do that, you give everyone else permission to do the same!  And that’s when the magic begins.

WHEN I DISCOVERED THIS, THINGS CHANGED

One of the most important personal discoveries I have made, one that has transformed my understanding of how success and happiness come about, is the role of feelings. Life is good when you’re inspired and achieving the things you desire, not so? But what about those moments when sneaky feelings of failure or doubt come in to steal away your can-do attitude? Those unwelcome moods of gloom?

Ignoring them doesn’t make them disappear unfortunately. You can block the messages of the body from your awareness, but you can’t delete their existence.  In fact sneaky feelings of gloom can do more than change your mood. They can sabotage your success. Sometimes they raise their little heads before you’ve even set out in the direction of your goals!

If you, for example, have battled with weight problems your whole life, chances are that somewhere a niggly feeling of doubt will pop up the minute you set a new weight goal. I know for myself I try to ignore these niggles, but niggly feelings have more power than we think. Niggly feelings that countermand our goals, even subtly, change our vibe and our response to life. But most important is that these niggles (and also strong charged feelings)  are messages telling us that a part does not believe that we can achieve what we are setting out to do. In other words something somewhere needs adjustment in order to succeed.

A niggly feeling is the same as the oil light in our car. It’s an important bit of information, one that helps us keep the engine in running order. And when the oil light comes on we immediately stop driving and investigate, don’t we? We’d never go to the garage and instruct the mechanic ‘turn off that pesky oil light. Cut the cable!’ In the same way it’s crazy to ignore an inner niggle about your life.

When we notice and incorporate what we feel into our life plans it really empowers us. But how do we do that? First thing is to entertain the idea that feelings are your friend! All feeling are your friend.  This can be easier said than done.   And though you probably don’t buy into the notion now, stay with it nonetheless. To create your best life requires you to create the best, most fabulous relationship between YOU and your FEELINGS.

A great way to do this is to tap the top of your head with your fingers and say out loud ‘feelings are my friend.’ Before you go to sleep look at yourself in the mirror for one minute, in the eyes, whilst tapping your head as described and say the phrase ‘feelings are my friend’.  Repeat this as often as you can.  Using body based exercises this way activates the overlighting field of intelligence of your body-mind – and starts to create a tipping point for change.

Changing your relationship to your feelings is the start to changing your life for the better. So use the tapping tool!

NO MORE PUSH-PUSH. TIME TO FIND YOUR RIVER OF FLOW

Without conscious awareness, pushing the river is the default model in today’s world. Everyone is employing the model simply because society has conditioned us this way. From the time we were young we were told ‘work hard, play hard’ – the harder you work, the better the results – and you MUST get results! We are commanded to get results at school, in sport, even our spiritual lives are results driven. In our current model results define you, they make a statement of who you are. Without good results is your life worthwhile?

There’s a very subtle yet powerful difference between pushing the river and riding it, so subtle that perhaps a real life example of the two would best explain the difference. A friend of mine is dating a lady who is an interior decorator. One day she overheard her boss stressing about a particularly big deal which he had won to redecorate a chain of guest houses. Having struck the deal he found that the fabric selected for the furniture was out of stock and completely unavailable anywhere. This obviously delayed promised delivery times, putting the order in jeopardy. The last thing the boss wanted was the client to cancel the order.

As a result, and in conformance to the ‘push the river’ model, she heard her boss lying to the customer on the one side whilst abusing the supplier on the other. As is usual in the push the river model, the pusher was pushed to his limit and was having an awful time. All his negative energy was spilling over into the rest of the office.

Whilst other employees shrugged the situation off, the lady in question became interested in what was happening and, using her own time, popped into the client’s guest house to have a look. When she arrived and viewed the current décor it was immediately apparent to her decorating mind that the out of stock fabric was in fact not the best match for the rooms in question.

Upon returning to the office, still without telling her boss what she was doing, she  identified some fabric that she felt would be a much more attractive option.  On enquiry she discovered that there was no problem with availability of her suggested fabric – in fact they even had several bales in their own stock.

She called the client, explaining that she had visited his premises, and that she had identified some really super fabric which she would like to show him. When the client arrived and looked at the fabric sample, he immediately agreed with her assessment and readily signed a re-order for the different fabric.  Problem gone!

This story clearly demonstrates the difference between the push the river and ride the river model. The enraged and stressed boss, was enraged and stressed because he was having to push the deal through. He had a sense that all his efforts in securing the first deal were being undermined. He had a sense that life was stealing away what was rightfully his. He had a sense that life has an irritating way of going wrong. His model of the world made the whole affair angry and unresolved.

The vitally interested and passionately involved decorator was motivated by a love of beautiful houses. She had a sense of the lovely and wished to express it. She followed her heart’s leading at every turn, not for outcomes, but just because it was her make up,  and she was being true to it. Her model of the world swept problems effortlessly away. Ironically all the wasted energy of the boss yielded no results, whereas the sweet and easy energy of the love of décor produced superb results.  Today, instead of feeling driven and stressed, look in your heart for what you love and allow yourself to say YES to it. when you do that, a magical state of flow becomes suddenly possible! A REALLY GOOD ARTICLE BY A FRANCISCAN FRAIR

“For me, the two correctives of all spirituality are silence and service. If either of those is missing, it is not true, healthy spirituality. Without silence, we do not really experience our experiences. We may serve others and have many experiences, but without silence, nothing has the power to change us, to awaken us, to give us that joy that the world cannot give, as Jesus says. And without clear acts of free service (needing no payback of any sort, even “heaven”), a person’s spiritual authenticity can and should be called into question. Divine Love always needs to and must overflow!

To live in this primordial, foundational being itself, which I am calling silence, creates a kind of sympathetic resonance with what is right in front of us. Without it, we just react instead of respond. Without some degree of silence, we are never living, never tasting, as there is not much capacity to enjoy, appreciate, or taste the moment as it purely is. The opposite of contemplation is not action, it is reaction. We must wait for pure action, which always proceeds from a contemplative silence in which we are able to listen anew to truth and to what is really happening. Such spiritual silence demands a deep presence to oneself in the moment, which will probably have the same practical effect as presence to God.

You do not hear silence (precisely!), but it is that by which you do hear. You cannot capture silence. It captures you. Silence is a kind of thinking that is not thinking. It’s a kind of thinking which mostly sees(contemplata). Silence, then, is an alternative consciousness. It is a form of intelligence, a form of knowing beyond bodily reacting or emotion. It is a form of knowing beyond mental analysis, which is what we usually call thinking. All of the great world religions at the higher levels(mystical) discovered that our tyrannical mode of everyday thinking (which is largely compulsive, brain-driven, and based on early patterning and conditioning) has to be relativized and limited, or it takes over, to the loss of our primal being and identity in ourselves. I used to think that mysticism was the eventual fruit of years of contemplation; now I think it all begins with one clear moment of mystic consciousness, which then becomes the constant “spring inside us, welling up unto eternal life.”

About the Author: Richard Rohr is a Franciscan friar, an internationally known speaker and author, and founding director of the Center for Action and Contemplation. The above passage is from his book, Silent Compassion: Finding God in Contemplation.”

YOUR SOUL CREATES AN ELEGANT OUTCOME, EVERYTIME – PART 2

What hurts us most in life is falling out of harmonious action with our Soul – that was the message of my article last week. This week I continue with this message showing HOW you can create a dynamic responsive relationship with your Soul. This is where the rubber meets the road people!

Foundations for living in harmony with your Soul day in, day out
1. Write a goal to have a dynamic listening relationship with your body-mind. (Soul messages come through the body-mind, not the mind-mind)

2. Honour the intelligence of the body-mind – even light a candle each day to do this.

3. Acknowledge and rely on the body-mind’s ability to receive divine intelligence, like a river of divine knowledge, about your destiny and your life.

To apply these 3 points, do the following:
1. Exercise your body regularly, even a mild walk each day is enough.

2. Meditate at least 5 times per week. You don’t have to be in a trance for an hour. Surprise surprise, 3 minutes a day is enough (for details on what to do in those 3 minutes CLICK HERE

However, if you want to spend more time meditating, an excitingly transformative meditation approach is one which does not ask you to visualise, think or work with your mind/thought in any way. Instead you move your body in a certain way to align to your Soul Source – this could be to move air into your lungs, move your vocal cords to chant, and even move your legs to step in certain ways. (Suggestions below).

3. Turn off your cell, sit in the garden/sun/fire and spend time with your thoughts and feelings. Be alone. Get to know yourself each day.

YOUR SOUL CREATES AN ELEGANT OUTCOME EVERYTIME, IF YOU WILL LISTEN

What would it be like to have the most efficient all-knowing reminder service prompting you on the right thing to do 24/7 – 365 days a year! It would take a load off your mind, and reduce your to do list dramatically, not so? Living lightly this way is what’s on offer from your Soul. And what hurts us most is ignoring it!

Cat shares real life experiences of how her Soul prompted her
I recently remembered this fabulous truth when I arrived, by impulse, at the voters registration offices with only hours left to get on the roll. Up until that morning I was totally ignorant of the cut off time, but acting on my Soul promptings as I had breakfast, I landed up registered in the right time, right place. Elegant! Easy! No cell phone reminder, diary or drama!

It happens all the time. Another time I had just returned from the UK not knowing that my driver’s licence was about to expire. Busily involved in starting up my South African life again, it never even occurred to me to check it. But my Soul knew about it, and so when my daughter mentioned drivers licence renewals one morning, my soul spoke loud and clear – by that I mean something ran through me as I heard those words – and I decided there and then that I would go to the licence office that day! On arriving I discovered that it was to expire the very next day! Woohoo! What joy! How amazing and how easy to avoid frustration, time and money, and feel fabulously supported and aligned at the same time! And this marvellous reminder service of the Soul is there for everyone.

What stands in your way?
But what stands in the way of this natural process is your mind-mind and its overbearing thinking process. Instead of planning and scheming all the time, what is needed is self awareness; in particular an awareness of what is moving through you in the moment.

How does your Soul speak to you?
The Soul speaks to you via a gentle but clear urge to do something. It is a seemingly physical experience, but mystically transcends the body at the same time. It calls you to act, but too many people are de-sensitized to this feelings – and don’t taken action on the impulse.

If you feel its absence in your life, it is not that it isn’t there, but that you are not allowing it. It is important to know that it happens in real time and needs to be responded to the same way. There is no forward planning. It runs through you just-in-time (dam! we all want forward notice…) And when it comes through you, like a sneeze, it takes over for a split second. Unlike a sneeze it can be ignored! My prayer is that you don’t ignore it one moment more!

So what hurts most in life – ignoring impulses of your Soul. It hurts not to say YES to your Soul. Your Soul is the most efficient reminder service in the world! It is a field of intelligence that knows your perfect life plan and guides you step by tiny step. To say yes requires courage but brings joy, like riding a river. To say no is living your programming. Your mind-mind will always find reasons why not.

But as Deepak Chopra says ‘The possibility of stepping into a higher plane is quite real for everyone. It requires no force or effort or sacrifice. It involves little more than changing our ideas about what is normal.’

THE MOST IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE IN ATTRACTING MONEY

Are you stuck or scared or broke – or all of those?

Cannot work out what you are doing ‘wrong’ and scared you might never ever get it right?

From a person who flip flopped between wealth and debt so often that I didn’t know which end of a cheque book was up and which was down anymore, from someone so traumatised by lack that adding up the monthly bills give me an instant terrible spastic colon, I have the answer and know how to stop the law of attraction bringing you the wrong things!

This answer lies in where you believe your money comes from.

This belief will not only direct your focus and energies, but activate the invisible law of attraction for money – or not!

  • If you have your own business, chances are you believe that money will flow into your life from your clients.
  • If you are in full time employment, chances are that you believe money will flow from your employer.
  • If you are on state pension, you believe money will come from the government.
  • etc

And this is the problem!  By locking on and expecting these earthly sources to supply you with money, you block up and create congestion in the super-highway of money flow.

Money does not come from the bank, nor the mint. It does not come from your Mom, Dad, boss, clients, government or charity! It comes to you through the great and mystical workings of energy – ala quantum physics. Money is a simply another form of energy and its flow is governed by the laws of it, no more, no less.

To get these laws working for you it is vital that you actively and repeatedly unhook any expectations and beliefs that define your source as anything other than THE SOURCE (of all life).  Start deliberately sending streamers of expectation to higher realms ie the matrix of all life, the universal field of intelligence, the collective unconscious or a higher power.

If your clients haven’t paid you in time, by all means make the call to collect the cheque, but as you do that keep reminding yourself that they are simply one channel that the Creative Life Force uses to get money to you. If your pension keeps getting smaller, lobby your MP to bring about change but unhook those tentacles from the government and stream them in the direction of SOURCE.

Keep doing this as a daily, hourly or even minute by minute practice – especially in times of stressful shortage – because in truth your process of expecting others to provide you with money is so habitual and so unconscious, that deliberate reprogramming is what is required.  Every moment of lack is life giving you a practise session.

As you consider this, the most important law of money attraction, it is vital, actually essential, that you gear to go beyond a quick fix.  Reprogramming money lack will take more than one article, one workshop or one coaching session…sorry….

It took 2 years of continuous reprogramming before I had a full-on and permanent break through. When the big-bang-break-through happened, I had done my time to change the vibrational quality of my cells and thats what made it permanent. And you need to too.  You probably feel that you cannot stand the agony of money struggle one minute more. Actually, short term fixes probably helped get you to this point. But the good news is that whilst I scrimped, went without, juggled creditors, and sometimes borrowed money to make the bills, I never went without food, still answered the prompt to give, paid my rent and even expanded my business.

My work on this planet is to teach others how to manifest what they want, especially money.  I have been there and back collecting and formulating this knowledge. Because of this I know that if you will take this law on board, and do the work to embody it, that a big miracle can happen for you too. What a lovely thought!

Blessings, Cat
